The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, July 1, 2020, features the third of a five-day, five-episode marathon dedicated to Sonny and his children. In today’s show, Sonny found himself on the business end of a handgun being wielded by a revenge-seeking Michael.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
Michael (Chad Duell) promised A.J. (Sean Kanan) that he would avenge his death. So imagine the young man’s surprise when he learned that Sonny (Maurice Benard), the man who had raised him since infancy, was the one who fired the fatal bullet into his biological father.
But a promise is a promise. So, with that in mind, Michael co-opted a carelessly discarded firearm and tracked Sonny down. The one benefit of the tense stand-off that followed was Ava (Maura West) living to see another day – though she had problems all of her own.
Baby Blues
Namely the fact that her recently-delivered baby girl had been kidnapped by a less-than-stable Nina (Michelle Stafford) whom many Port Charlesians were desperate to locate. Luckily the woman and her “prize” were safely ensconced in a hotel room and the former was having a “friendly” chat with her mother, Madeline (Donna Mills).
Did Madeline pay Ava to seduce Silas (Michael Easton)? Yep, she certainly did. But Madeline promised she had done so to protect her daughter. Silas was no good from the start and she had merely sped up the inevitable. Nina, however, didn’t by the story. Oh well, everything will be fine once she presents Silas with “their” daughter…
Difference of Opinion
Anna (Finola Hughes) was fighting mad after learning that Duke (Ian Buchanan) had indeed provided Sonny with a false alibi for the night of A.J.’s killing. How could he have chosen mob boss over the supposed love of his life? Duke remained unapologetic. Anna remained peeved. And the former wound up cuffed and placed in a holding cell.
