General Hospital Recap: Law Enforcement And The Mob

The General Hospital recap for March 30-April 3, 2020, features a canvas full of characters showing off their flaws and embracing them.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Perfection is overrated – especially if you live in Port Charles. You don’t need to be a great police commissioner – or even a good one for that matter – as long as you understand that the local mob boss and his enforcer are your best hopes at stopping the “real criminals”

Just ask Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry), who’s not only conspiring with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) to sully the names of her fellow DEA agents but to also free big bad Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) so that he can be “eliminated” once and for all.

And don’t feel that you have to struggle to actually learn the truth about a situation. You can always act like Julian Jerome (William de Vry), the bullheaded “reformed gangster” who go it into his head that his ex-wife was being taken advantage of by her psychiatrist and decided to loudly shout his suspicions inside a hospital full of observant doctors and nurses.

Carly and Molly: Past Imperfect

Or you could pull a Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos). That’s where you make every situation about yourself, never take anyone else’s feelings, wants, or needs into consideration and then react angrily when they, in turn, get fed up with your actions.

Sure, Jordan may have been trying to merely halt the young woman’s search for her missing boyfriend – who isn’t so much missing as he is a hostage – but when she called her a “spoiled, entitled brat,” she wasn’t far off the mark.

And finally, if you’re a smart cookie, you’ll aspire to be like Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). This shady lady is far from perfect and she knows it – and she embraces her faults. She has no qualms about locking her rivals out on rooftops or forging their signatures on hospital documents.

As long as her actions get the job done – and Wiley’s successful heart operation proves that they do – Carly is fine with being imperfect. Heck, it’s more fun that way.

GH Musings

Mac: “Laura, I worked with Taggert for years here at the PD. He never bent the law to get a conviction.” Maybe not to get a conviction, but he sure did break the law by keeping quiet about the role his sister played in the hit and run accident that nearly killed Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Not exactly Cop of the Year behavior.

Molly: “I’m a published author…I was 16 at the time…it was a romance novel.” Its title was Love in Maine and it was actually stolen and published by Connie Falconeri (Kate Howard’s alternate personality).

Laura: “Kevin’s recommendation can have Cyrus Renault transferred to Ferncliff.” Or Shadybrook, or Miscavige, or D’Archam…why does Port Charles have so many mental health facilities? General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
