The General Hospital recap for Friday, December 13, 2019, features Ava in fighting form, Charlotte giving Laura reason to worry, another disagreement between Carly and Sonny, and Anna confronted with some cold, hard facts.
After paying a visit to Avery a visit and annoying Carly (Laura Wright), Ava (Maura West) retired to the gallery and phoned Trina for some assistance. When the young woman arrived, she was informed that the building would be playing host to an exclusive auction.
And the prized item up for bid is the portrait of Helena Cassadine. Trina wasn’t so sure that anybody will pay good money for the piece — especially the six figures that her boss is expecting.
However, Ava cautioned that as long as the right audience is contacted an auctioneer can unload anything. To that end, she sent out a text message to Laura (Genie Francis), Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) showing her posing with the painting accompanied by the message, “J Garrin’s masterpiece is up for auction tonight. Bring your checkbooks.”
Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) began to doubt the competency of her new “bodyguard.” First, she found a picture of him on Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) phone and then he let her fall from a set of monkey bars and scrape up her hand.
When she found him lurking at the docks, she pressed him on the issues and he barely covered. Later, when she and “Papa” settled in for a meal at Kelly’s, Charlotte let it slip to Laura about the man. Laura told Curtis (Donnell Turner) that she thought Charlotte had created an imaginary protector.
Sonny (Maurice Benard) caught Carly making a clandestine call to Jax and immediately accused her of lying and keeping secrets. Carly promised that she would tell her husband what was going on — but not in the present moment.
When summoned to the pier by her ex, Carly beat a hasty retreat. Upon arrival, she was informed that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) had lost his signet ring and immediately realized that Ava knows the truth.
Jason (Steve Burton) tracked Anna (Finola Hughes) down at GH and asked for a private word. Once alone, he did his utmost to convince her that Peter (Wes Ramsey) was responsible for all the recent trouble concerning Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Franco (Roger Howarth) but Anna remained uncertain.
