General Hospital Recap: Is Valentin Really Giving Up?

The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, August 22, features a day of new beginnings — even for the people who don’t want them.

Nina’s Decision
At Metro Court, Nina (Michelle Stafford) informed Maxie (Kirsten Storms) that today marked the end of the 30 days she gave Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) to prove their marriage was worth saving.

Valentin then appeared and Nina told him she’s going through with the divorce and headed over to Diane’s to sign the papers.

Later, Valentin met with Curtis and told him he wants him to find Nina’s daughter, whom he believes never died.

Brad And Lucas’s Plight
Diane (Carolyn Hennessy) and Alexis (Nancy Grahn) discussed why ‘Wiley’s’ birth mother was reconsidering the adoption. Diane informed Alexis that Brad and Lucas losing the child was always a possibility.

Later, Julian (William DeVry) snuck into the office and took pics of the adoption file.

After lamenting to Kim about his son’s loss, he put in a call to the birth mother, but we have yet to learn who she really is.

Sonny and Michael’s Shared Loss
Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Michael (Chad Duell) bonded about their shared grief of losing a child, and Sonny told his son it’s okay to feel. He added that a loss was a loss, no matter how or when it comes about.

The Invader Loses — and Gains — Staff
As Curtis (Donnell Turner) urged Drew (Billy Miller) to really consider his feelings for Margaux and stop the digging expedition, a picture of Drew and Margaux kissing appeared on the cover of The Invader.

Margaux (Elizabeth Hendrickson) confronted Peter about the photo, but Peter said she was fair game.

And though Lulu (Emme Rylan) originally declined the investigative reporter position Peter (Wes Ramsey) offered her, she later came back and took him up on the offer after she was demoted at Aurora.
