The General Hospital recap for May 4-8, 2020 features many in Port Charles learning about the intricacies of life and discovering that, every so often, it really sucks!

General Hospital Recap Highlights

There’s an exception to every rule. The Port Charles Police Department should be run by a squeaky clean commissioner but instead, they have Jordan – she who falsifies evidence, lies to superiors, allows herself to be blackmailed by a mafioso, and makes herself party to assignation plots.

Michael (Chad Duell) should be awarded sole custody of Wiley. But if devious Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and her corrupt legal eagle have anything to say about it, the babe will be going home with her.

It should be Michael and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and Chase (Josh Swickard) and Willow (Katelynn MacMullen) as our young couples. But thanks to an ill-planned plot, Sasha and Chase are on the outs and Michaela and Willow are headed down the aisle.

Alexis and Her Girls

Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) should be upholding the law but thanks to her perjured testimony during Neil’s (Joe Flanigan) hearing, she’s now barred from practicing law. Speaking of Neil, he should be working with Alexis on their oh-so-complicated love affair but he wants to scamper out of town with his tail between his legs.

And then there’s Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla). The former should be upfront and honest with TJ (Tajh Bellow) about her affair with Brando (Johnny Wactor) but she’s gonna keep mum. Because secrets are a great basis for marriage, or in this case, domestic partnership.

As for the latter, she should be celebrating all her major milestones with her dad, Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews) but the evil Cyrus (Jeff Kober) put a stop to that. Or did he? It isn’t fair that the soap hasn’t told us who Jordan spoke to on that burner phone. Is it too much to hope that it’s a very-much-alive Taggert?

GH Musings

Finn: “So, no trouble with your treatment?” Anna: “No, it’s fine. It’s kind of routine now, really.” Had anyone else forgotten that Anna was diagnosed with polycythemia vera, a rare blood cancer?

Which one of Kristina’s truisms do you think hurt Sam the worst? “You’re addicted to danger more than I was ever addicted to Dawn of Day and Shiloh!” “You and Jason are danger junkies.” Or, “Jason would die for you, but his first priority is my dad and Carly.”

Robert: “I can’t believe that Holly is gone…all that beauty, all that sparkle…” Mac: “All that talent for running a scam.” It’s true. Holly was indeed a master con-artist. In fact, her first appearance involved her and her kin attempting to fleece the Port Charles elite with a phony oil discovery.

Mac: “Hey, you know Robert did lose a great love, but Felicia and I, we lost a very dear friend.” While many fans might remember Felicia and Holly adventuring in Texas and Mexico, some might not recall that Mac and Holly actually served as Robin’s co-parents for about a year after Robert and Anna were presumed dead.

Laura: “So Nelle is claiming that the head of the hospital and a senior staff member conspired to do surgery on her child without her permission? See that opens up the hospital to charges that are not covered by the hospital’s insurance.

“And look, if worse came to worse and the hospital did have to pay Nelle off for the damages that she is asking for and then all the negative press that would come with it. I’m not sure the hospital could survive that.”

Shoot, where’s a cash infusion from the Cassadine’s when you need it? Might Cyrus bail out the institution like Stefan once did?

Carly: “So, do you remember that time that we got married so I couldn’t testify against you?” Sonny: “Which one?” Carly: “Either time.” HA!

Franco: “In July, it is the 10-year anniversary of my Francophrenia show at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Now, you might remember that night as the night I tried to frame Jason for apparently pushing me off the roof to my death.”

It was also the night he took a museum guest hostage and murdered a man in cold blood. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
