The General Hospital recap for Friday, May 29, 2020, features a continued look back at the 2015 Nurses Ball. There were more musical performances, Elizabeth Webber declaring herself selfish, and Spencer learning that beauty isn’t only skin deep.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
It’s still five years ago, but you may be slightly confused since GH chose to skip an entire episode rather than continue on from yesterday’s cliffhanger. The short version? Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) crashed the Nurses Ball and interrupted Cameron (Michael Leone) and Emma’s (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) tango by dropping sandbags onto the stage.
With the children rattled, Duke (Ian Buchanan) and Anna (Finola Hughes) took their place and performed the routine.
Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) continued to explain to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) how Jake Doe (Billy Miller) was really Jason…though he isn’t. Lucy (Lynn Herring) was caught in her underwear (again!). Magic Milo and the Magic Wands put on quite the show as did the Haunted Starlets.
History Lesson
On today’s classic, Elizabeth stormed the stage, seemingly intent on revealing “Jason’s” true identity. However, she stopped herself and instead recounted the story of Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough) public declaration that she was the face of HIV, her subsequent breakdown, and Jason (Steve Burton) carrying off the stage.
The tale visibly moved many in the audience – Jake, Carly (Laura Wright), Anna, and Patrick (Jason Thompson) most specifically.
Declarations
Afterward, Nikolas wondered why Elizabeth didn’t tell the truth and she declared that she was keeping quiet so that she can finally have Jason all to herself. She’s tired of always being good and decent and receiving no reward. She has a shot at getting with the man she loves and she’s taking it!
Screw Carly and Sonny (Maurice Benard) – let them clean up their own messes. Forget Sam. She’s perfectly happy with Patrick. It’s now Elizabeth’s turn to put HER needs and wants above everybody else’s.
Mother Knows Best
While he sulked back at Wyndemere, Spencer was visited by Courtney’s (Alicia Leigh Willis) spirit. She gently admonished her son for his treatment of Cameron – after all, she was a “townie” from Atlantic City – and imbued him with the courage to remove his mask and look at what scars remained.
The Show Must Go On
Back in the Ballroom, “Eddie Maine” (Wally Kurth) sang Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) crooned It Might Be You, and Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) closed the show with You’re Not Alone Anymore. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
