The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, September 9, 2020, features Julian doing his best to get out from under Nelle’s thumb, Alexis in mourning, and Portia clearing the air with Ava and Jordan

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Though he did his best to comfort Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Julian (William de Vry) was summarily shown the door. He returned to Charlie’s and confided some troubling news to Ava (Maura West): Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) might have proof that he was involved in Brad (Parry Shen) and Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) baby swap.

The siblings put their heads together and came up with a plan. Julian would break into Martin’s office and root around in the files. Ava would keep watch outside, finger at the ready to send him a cease and desist text message.

Phase one of the plan went swimmingly. But when Martin and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) arrived on the scene, Ava was unable to deliver her warning due to a bad cell signal. In a show of her improv skills, Ava pulled the fire alarm giving Julian just enough time to escape.

While the two skulked away empty-handed, Martin and Valentin turned their attention towards pressing business. Martin produced a set of documents requiring Valentin’s signature and, once obtained, he returned them to his briefcase – right atop a file folder marked with Nelle’s signature and the command, “To be opened in the event of my death.”

Wishful Drinking

Alexis continued to bemoan Neil’s (Joe Flanigan) passing and she wondered if he had indeed been an addict. A PCPD officer collected the discarded needle and Alexis found temporary comfort in a visit from Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton).

However, rather than take them up on their offer of accommodation, Alexis insisted that she wanted to be left alone. With her grief compounded, Alexis struggled with her desire to stay sober and not turn to alcohol.

Jordan Demanded Answers

Over at Cyrus’s (Jeff Kober), Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) demanded to know why he had ordered Neil’s assassination. Cyrus indignantly denied the charge and took the opportunity to stealthily threaten Jordan into submission.

Afterward, he contacted one of his underlings and demanded answers about Neil’s death and the drugs that ended his life.

Mother Courage

Off a civil – and dare we say, bonding convo with Ava – Portia (Brook Kerr) made nice with Jordan and the two women expressed their hopes that Trina (Sydney Mikayla) would soon forgive Curtis (Donnell Turner) his trespass. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
