The General Hospital recap for Monday, June 15, 2020, features the first of a five-day, five-episode marathon of all things Sonny and Carly.
General Hospital Recap Highlights
For the past three weeks, fans have been given the opportunity to revisit six years’ worth of Nurses Ball performances and shenanigans. Now, GH is launching CarSon Week – five days dedicated to some of Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) best moments. First up: A reaffirmation of their love for one another.
Context Is Key
Number One, AKA Jerry Jacks, wants something that Lorenzo Alcazar has…and doesn’t want to give. So, what’s a mercenary to do? Why take a hotel full of paying guests hostage of course!
And just to prove he is a seriously bad guy, Jerry shot and critically wounded Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough)…you know, just for the fun of it. Then he forced Carly, and a guest of her choice, to tend to the rapidly dying woman. That’ll teach Carly to get mouthy!
Operation Brought To Life
Carly and Emily (Natasha Livingston) frantically worked to repair Robin’s ruptured artery and close the wound. At the indignant instance of the other hostages, Jerry allowed the heavily-pregnant Elizbeth (Rebecca Herbst) to join in on the fun. She is a surgical nurse after all.
Just as the women were finishing up – with just a bit of assistance from Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) who was speaking to them over the telephone – Jerry insisted that Carly be the only one to finish sewing his victim up.
Not one to be trifled with, Carly took the needle and thread and make quick work of the job. And she even earned Elizabeth’s praise!
Close Quarters
As a reward for her actions, Jerry escorted Carly to a penthouse suite housing a bruised and battered Sonny. Since she already had one victory under her belt, Carly quickly achieved another by managing to free Sonny from his handcuffs.
In thanks, Sonny bared his soul to his savior. “You’re my whole life. You’re my wife, you’re my partner, you’re the mother of my children. I love you…and I always will.”
The Drama Continues
Meanwhile, a dizzy and exasperated Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was admitted – against her will – to a room at GH (conveniently just a hop, skip, and a jump from the one containing an injured Lorenzo).
Back at the Metro Court, Sam (Kelly Monaco) acquired a knife and slipped it to Mateo Ruiz, one of her fellow hostages who just so happened to be an ex-gang member turned priest. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
