The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, April 8, 2020, features an episode all about Carly and Nelle and their epic(?) rivalry.
General Hospital Recap Highlight
A frustrated Carly (Laura Wright) let herself into Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) office and demanded to have a private chat with Nelle (Chloe Lanier). Once alone, Carly offered to give Nelle whatever she wanted as long as it meant she would finally drop her vendetta against the Corinthos family.
In response, Nelle revealed that the only thing she wanted was to be the heroine in her own story. If Carly, whom she shares so many characteristics with, can be redeemed, Nelle is sure that it’s possible for her.
Carly is taken aback by the request and overcome with memories of all the heinous acts that Nelle committed. Chief among them, her trying to convince the family she slept with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and her switching her baby with Brad’s (Parry Shen).
However, Nelle is just as quick to remind Carly of her own sins – hello, Tony Jones and AJ Quartermaine, the two men who Carly utterly destroyed in her quest for vengeance and social standing.
Furthermore, she counters that she and Carly are just alike, considering the fact that their sisters. But Carly won’t accept the logic. A) She isn’t Frank Benson’s biological daughter and B) She didn’t even know that Frank had a daughter.
Abd while Nelle might be able to accept the former statement, she doesn’t let the other pass unchallenged. “Carly you knew…you saw me!”
Parental Discretion
Nina was joined in the Crimson offices vestibule by Jax (Ingo Rademacher) who remembered the role he played in Nelle’s sorry saga. Lest anyone forget, it was he who contacted Frank and promised him $1 million in exchange for a kidney.
He worried that the entire situation was his fault – if he hadn’t been so desperate, Nelle never would have been forced to go under the knife and she would have had no reason to wreak havoc in Port Charles.
Nina, however, supported him and said that he had only done what any parent would have done to protect their child. In fact, she would have done the same. If she had a daughter to fight for. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
