The General Hospital recap for July 13-17, 2020, features a rewinding of the clock to May of this year. Among the recalled storylines are a confession of adultery, a runaway child, and a familial ultimatum.
Molly (Haley Pullos) was used to being the more sensible and stable of the Davis girls. So color her shocked when she went and cheated on TJ (Tajh Bellow) with a virtual stranger – who later turned out to be her uncle’s cousin. Families are complicated.
However, Molly’s fans were no doubt left equally as shocked when she decided to forgo the truth and heed Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) plea for silence. But she couldn’t keep the truth from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).
And Sam (Kelly Monaco) could no longer hide her contempt for Kristina, the person she blames her predicament. For her part, Kristina wasn’t about to take Sam’s indignation.
In fact, she let her elder sibling in on a few hard truths: she and Jason (Steve Burton) are addicted to danger — crime and its investigation sustain their relationship and as long as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) are in the picture Sam will always run a distant third on Jason’s list of priorities. Kristina might not be the best advice giver, but she read Sam down to her very marrow.
Like Molly, Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) spent most of the week in a funk. Life just isn’t simple when you’re the child of a career criminal who no one but you can stand and a mother who seems to think that she deserves an elevation to sainthood.
It would be so much easier to just run away. And that’s exactly what Charlotte did. But she only got as far as the Crimson offices. Luckily, her actions ensured her the future that she desperately wanted: Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is back in her life and he won’t be going anywhere.
Speaking of insolent children, Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) fired off a missive to Nikolas in which insisted that his estranged father throw Ava (Maura West) out of Wyndemere and onto the street. It’s the only hope Nikolas has of winning him back.
The only problem with that request is that the minute Nikolas finishes with Ava she gets 90% of his fortune — the castle and the island it sits on included. Will Spencer be willing to actually surrender his birthright? Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) says yay. Nikolas isn’t so sure.
Nelle (Chloe Lanier) really needs a friend. Well, actually what she needs is a friend to serve as a character witness during her upcoming custody hearing. Too bad she doesn’t have any. But maybe Nina (Cynthia Watros) will do. She seems pretty firmly ensconced on Nelle’s side. It’s a mother thing. Maybe.
Can we just agree right here and right now that Cameron (William Lipton) and Trina (Sydney Mikayla) should be this soap’s endgame? General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
