General Hospital Recap
The General Hospital recap for Thursday, January 9, 2020, features Sam and Jason offering Robert some quid pro quo, Anna conducting a stealth interrogation, a whole lot of characters playing catch up, and Sonny offering Ava a…compliment?!
Sam (Kelly Monaco), Jason (Steve Burton) and Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) huddled in the PCDP interrogation room awaiting Robert’s (Tristan Rogers) arrival. When he deemed to make an appearance — he LOVES to make any associate of Sonny’s sweat — they offered him up a trade.
If he pulled his weight as D.A. to get Sam a more amiable parole officer — you know, one who doesn’t mind a hitman around small children — they would help him gather damning evidence against Peter. And that was a deal too sweet for Robert to pass up.
Finn (Michael Easton) comforted a stressed-out Anna (Finola Hughes), who was waging a major battle with her conscience. As an upholder of the law (ignoring that whole brief association with the DVX) she knows that pursuing the lead linking Peter (Wes Ramsey) to the hospital assassin is the right thing to do. As a mother, the inevitable conclusion frightens her.
When Peter arrived at her house she took the time to present him with the minute evidence that she’s gathered thus far but he played it off as mere coincidence. Then he asked her not to share the discovery with Jason — a major red flag for momma bear.
After seeing how stressed out and preoccupied Brad (Parry Shen) has become of late, Michael (Chad Duell) offered, then insisted that he be allowed to pay for a nanny. Brad finally acquiesced but then immediately called Julian (William deVry) to complain.
For his part, Julian was still feeling really, really bad that he nearly killed his son. Ava (Maura West) stopped by to show off her new wedding ring and crow to her brother that she’s gonna drive her new husband “to the cleaners.”
Later, Ava ran into Sonny (Maurice Benard) and caught him up on the previous night’s events and her plan to become a very wealthy lady. Sonny cautioned her to be careful and even admitted he would be unhappy if she ended up murdered by her new hubby.
