The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, April 2 features the soap’s 56th anniversary episode with a scavenger hunt of sorts across the hospital.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) called an odd hodge-podge of Port Charles citizens to the hospital nurses’ station where she told them Gail (Susan Brown) each wanted them to have an envelope with a piece of the original GH blue prints in them.
As each person found the spot, they would also find an envelope with their name on it, so off they went.
While Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) worked together, she realized their envelopes were not meant to be together. Instead, he found his envelope in the chapel with Laura (Genie Francis).
Lesley (Denise Alexander) and Monica (Leslie Charleson) were thrown together and sparred like old times as they found their envelopes in the locker room. They eventually came to an understanding.
Bobbie (Jackie Zeman) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) found their envelopes and remembered the tragedy that saved Maxie, but took BJ’s life. Bobbie also spent some time with Elizabeth, who told her she inspired her to become a nurse.
Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) also had praise for Epiphany (Sonya Eddy), who she called the person who’s taught her everything about the profession.
Franco (Roger Howarth) and Scott (Kin Shriner) bonded when Franco lamented what a horrible son he has been and how he never even bothered to meet Gail.
Carly (Laura Wright), Bobbie, and later Sonny (Maurice Benard) looked at the babies in the nursery and Carly blurted out to her stunned mother that she’s pregnant.
Finally, everyone found their envelopes and returned to the nurses’ station. It turned out they were only filled with confetti because Gail wanted everyone to reminisce and bond. And, that was our anniversary episode.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
