Word was received late Thursday from ABC publicity that General Hospital will not be airing an original episode on Friday, December 16.
But there’s a very good reason the soap opera was pre-empted.
In its place ABC will be airing President Obama’s end of the year address. In order to stay on schedule, General Hospital will now push everything by one day and air an original episode on December 23 instead of an encore episode as originally planned. Friday will air an encore of the November 1 episode in which Anna takes on a new assignment, Michael questions Nelle, and Griffin turns to Anna for help.
The 2 PM EST feed will break into this encore episode, the 3 PM EST feed will resume with this episode, and the PST will air this encore in full.
On Monday, viewers will be able to see the episode originally intended for Friday that has Finn (Michael Easton) racing against time to save Hayden (Rebecca Budig), Lulu (Emme Rylan) bonding with Charlotte, and Anna (Finola Hughes) recognizing a familiar tune.
This way all of their big story points will get back on schedule after December 23.
