Due to coverage of the late, great Muhammad Ali’s funeral on June 10, “General Hospital” will air an encore episode in ABC markets that will not cover the memorial.
ABC executive Nathan Varni posted the news on his Facebook account Thursday night, stating as follows:
“Hi all – a majority of stations will pre-empt GH tomorrow to air coverage of the Muhammad Ali funeral services. After much discussion we all think the episode that was scheduled to air on Friday 6/10 is an important episode and we want to make sure ALL #GH viewers get a chance to watch it without interruption. With that said we will be showing an encore episode of General Hospital on Friday 6/10 to both viewers in USA and Canada. The episode originally scheduled to air 6/10 will shift to Monday 6/13. If you DVR the show make sure to check that your DVR is set to still record on Monday 6/13 (sometimes the pre-empts will cause your DVR to get mixed up a little). Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to showing the episode in its entirety on Monday! Wishing you a very happy Friday and pleasant weekend ahead.”
