It’s a good thing Molly and TJ had that scene on General Hospital, as many had kind of forgotten they were still on the show.
Of course, the scene consisted of TJ (Tajh Bellow) trying to propose, and Molly (Haley Pullos) going off on a rant about the institution of marriage, the conspicuous consumption of weddings, and her determination to make all their fellow diners know their private business. It was really a meltdown worthy of Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Was Molly right to turn TJ down? The view from over 4,000 fans:
A majority 68% don’t like the fact that Molly broke TJ’s heart. She had no cause to do that. This couple has been together for eight years. If she never intended to get married or have children or do any of those things she’s decided society is obsessed with her doing, she might have mentioned it to him at some point, instead of waiting to dump everything at once.
A smaller 18% of General Hospital fans are on board with Molly not wanting to make it legal, but figure that as long as they love each other, they should stay together. Now, granted, it’s true that TJ wants something different out of life. But who cares what he wants. It’s kind of obvious Molly doesn’t. So why change anything?
And then there are the 14% who are wondering what in the world TJ was expecting? Is he new here? Does he not know Molly? This is exactly who she is. TJ was about to propose spending the rest of his life with the woman. Does he want more of this?
He should consider himself lucky. Now that Molly has said no, he can move on and find a woman who wants the same things he wants. Bye, Molly. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
