General Hospital Poll Results: Should Lucas Forgive Brad?

General Hospital is a very forgiving institution. People are forgiven for murders, like Sonny (Maurice Benard), Jason (Steve Burton), and Franco (Roger Howarth). They are forgiven for kidnappings, as with Sonny, Jason, Franco, Ava (Maura West), and Nina (Cynthia Watros). They are forgiven for scheming in the name of love… as with everyone.

So would it really be out of the ordinary for Lucas (Ryan Carnes) to forgive Brad (Parry Shen) for his little boo-boo? Here’s what almost 4,000 viewers believe:

General Hospital: Never Forgive

Absolutely not, 88% of you insist. Sonny, Jason, Franco, Ava, Nina and everyone else in Port Charles always has good reasons for doing what they do. But not Brad. Brad can’t defend his actions by claiming he was in shock from the unexpected death of the baby he’d just brought home, or that he was madly in love with his husband and wanted for them to have a family — even tie that into Lucas himself having been adopted.

Nope, he is just bad to the bone, he lied to Lucas, and he can — must — never be forgiven. What kind of people would Bobbie (Jaclyn Zeman) and Carly (Laura Wright) be if they overlooked bad behavior in those they loved? Or themselves.

Forgive and Forget

Brad did a bad thing, 12% of General Hospital fans concede. But he didn’t do an unforgivable thing. Brad’s biological dad was a mobster — it’s what he and Lucas initially bonded over. He was adopted by a loving family who protected him from that life.

The same could be said for little Jonah. He had no chance with parents like Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Michael (Chad Duell). Not to mention grandparents like Carly and Sonny.

Brad was doing a good deed. Plus, he really loves Lucas. He really loves the renamed Wiley. He did a misguided thing for a misguided reason. He’s hardly the only one in Port Charles. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
