General Hospital Poll Results: Fans Name Their Favorite PC Friendships

Sure you gotta have love and romance and, on General Hospital, you’ve gotta have violence and death, too. But you also gotta have friends! And Port Charles has some of the best ones around.

And like your own children, it’s hard to pick a favorite — but you sure gave it a try! We asked over 9,000 viewers to name their favorite Port Charles friendships. Here’s what they said:

Dixis

A winning 50% of you weren’t just whistling Dixie when you voted for Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) your gal pals supreme. For one thing, these two are much more likely to pass The Bechtel Test than most soap opera women sitting around talking.

(Sure, they may be talking about criminal acts, instead, but you’ve gotta start somewhere.) And at least Diane is a woman who doesn’t just talk the talk, but also walks the walk of being strong and independent. Maybe she could teach BFF Alexis a thing or two.

Ride or Die – Then Come Back To Life

Is there a more beautiful bromance on daytime than Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton), 30% of the audience all but weeps at the mere thought of it. There is nothing these two won’t do for each other.

Jason named the boy Carly (Laura Wright) claimed was his Michael, after Sonny. Sonny and Carly named their first-born Morgan, after Jason. And don’t forget Sonny’s ultimate sacrifice: He slept with Carly to prove to Jason what a no-good tramp she was. And look what that led to.

Split the Difference

An almost identical 10% each went for Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Lulu (Emme Rylan), and Laura (Genie Francis) and Carly. The first two make sense. They grew up together (more or less), and have dads with a tendency to abandon them for years at a time. That can bond girls!
