General Hospital Poll Results: Are Fans Rooting For a Nik/Ava Pairing?

General Hospital brought back Nikolas, in the form of daytime newcomer Marcus Coloma, and threw him into the orbit of Ava, played by powerhouse multi-Emmy winner Maura West. That is an awful lot of pretty in one place.

Nik and Ava have a lot in common. Both come from shady, criminal families. Both have been known to engage in shady, criminal activities themselves. Both have played dead, and both have tragically lost loved ones before their time.

So could ‘Nava’ be a supercouple in the making? How over 8,000 fans voted on the issue:

No On ‘Nava’
That’s a hard pass, 63% of you advise. First of all, Ava is too much woman for Nik to handle. He does better with more passive types like Courtney (Alicia Leigh Willis) or Emily (Natalia Livingston). You might call them spunky or feisty. But Ava passed spunky and feisty a long time ago.

Nik did manage with Hayden (Rebecca Budig) for a bit, but she was still a child compared to Ava. Ava would eat Nik, chew him up, spit him out, and still be hungry for more. And that won’t be any fun for anybody. Ava needs a man who will interest and challenge her. And, so far, all Nik has done is lurk.

On the other hand, 36% are open to the possibilities. Nik and Ava are both outcasts, to a degree. They understand what it’s like to be a family’s slightly less black (grey?) sheep. And how that makes one’s relatives eager to kill you.

Plus, Ava misses her dead Kiki (Hayley Erin) and her kidnapped-by-Sonny (Maurice Benard)-and-Carly (Laura Wright) Avery. Playing stepmama to Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) might distract her.
