When Nikolas first returned to General Hospital, Ava was confused and thought she was hallucinating. Then, she learned he made her believe she was crazy and also made her believe Kiki’s spirit was in hell.
Neither is exactly the most popular person in Port Charles. And they certainly know what it’s like to be the off-white sheep of an all-black family. Neither one expects the other to be perfect — or even very good. Especially when there are reasons not to be. And, now they’re man and wife.
So, could this be a match made in… purgatory? Almost 5,000 fans rendered a verdict on Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Ava (Maura West):
General Hospital: Too Late, Don’t Care, So What?
It’s not that 58% of you are violently against the pairing. It’s more that you’re kind of indifferent to it. You’re still trying to get used to this new Nikolas, and he’s just made his presence known to Laura (Genie Francis) and the rest of his former hometown.
He needs to settle in. And hooking up with a fellow pariah isn’t the optimal way to get that done. Also, this pairing just doesn’t excite you as much as it should, in theory. The issue is, Nik and Ava are too much alike. There’s little conflict and even less friction. Opposites attract. Twins bore.
Nik and Ava: Make It Happen
On the other hand, 42% of General Hospital fans are actually enthusiastic about the possibility. Precisely because they are too much alike. All of Ava and Nik’s previous relationships fell apart because their significant others wanted them to be something they’re not. i.e. Good people.
Ava and Nik are not good people, and any attempt to be with those who believe they could be is destined for disaster. They need to encourage each other to be their true selves. They need to lean in and be bad to the bone. The way their families raised them. The way they truly want to be. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
