In school, we’ve got the three R’s, reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmatic (though, obviously not spelling) while, on General Hospital, the most important three R’s are Rivalries, Romance, and (c)Rime.

We watch soaps for the love stories, 61% of you were adamant! So give us more — now. Young love, mature love, felon love, family love… you name it, we want it. The world is so full of bad news and disasters, it’s nice to tune out for an hour each day and tune into something hopeful.

Sure, we know a long-term happy ending is rarely in the cards, but a short term fix is nice, too. From Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) to Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco (Roger Howarth) — or is he Drew now — to Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen)… each one has something unique to offer, and you don’t want to miss a moment!

Down with love, object a more cynical 39% of General Hospital fans. You said it yourself, happy endings just aren’t a thing on soaps. Not for long, anyway.
