The General Hospital Nurses’ Ball: Now That the Silly Is Out Of the Way…

The “General Hospital” Nurses’ Ball is always a little bit of give and take. We can’t wait for it to happen each year, but we know we have to sit through some silly until we get some story.

Of course, no hospital in a small upstate New York town would warrant a television coverage of a charity event–complete with a red carpet, cheesy reporters, and brand-sponsored swag bags.

But, this is a soap opera after all, so if characters can be cryogenically frozen and return from the dead, we can watch a little red carpet camp before we get to the good stuff.

And, it looks like the good stuff is coming. Of course, we’ll enjoy musical numbers and Lucy (Lynn Herring) in her underwear, but we’ll also get some hot plots surrounding the ball–including one passed out nurse, one cancelled wedding, one little boy who’ll shock his parents, and one blackmail fight for a little girl named Avery.

We expect to see the reason for The Nurses’ Ball as Robin (Kimberly McCullough) makes an impassioned speech about HIV as we remember how it all started more than two decades ago.

But, what would the ball be without some surprises? What happens to Lucas (Ryan Carnes) remains to be seen, as well as what’s wrong with Bobbie (Jackie Zeman). We also know Lucy will end up in her underwear, but we never know how. So, now that the red carpet ridiculousness is a thing of the past, pull up a chair tomorrow and enjoy the show right along with your favorite Port Charles “luminaries”.
