Vanessa Marcil is much beloved by General Hospital fans, even if Brenda hasn’t been in Port Charles for a while.

Vanessa Marcil On Family

The popular actress is riding out the pandemic like the rest of us and has an interesting take on the quarantine, which she shared when she posted her thoughts on Instagram.

“This is my mom,” the actress wrote beside a great shot of the two of them from when Marcil was a toddler. “She has been writing the story of her life during quarantine. It’s reminded me again just how important it is that we tell our stories.”

It’s not just telling the stories that Marcil is advocating, though: She wants people to listen to one another, and she hopes to encourage more-open sharing during what could be a lonely time for many.

“It’s even more important imho that we ask each other how we are doing and then…… LISTEN,” Marcil wrote. “None of us can ever imagine what each other are going through privately and possibly alone. Let’s unite. My mom’s life was so so brutal growing up and she moved in with my father’s Mexican family at 15 when she had my brother 😳 Hearing her stories helps me to understand who she is and why.”

She tells fans not to worry about what other people think, either. “Tell your story. Who cares what anyone thinks about them?” she said. “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”

Of course, GH fans would love nothing more than to see Brenda back in Port Charles, where she could wreak havoc on the lives of Sonny and Jax. After all, the trio remains one of the all-time-great daytime triangles. Marcil has hinted at a return in the past and has made no secret of her love for the show, so you never know. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for airtimes.
