The Class of 2020 had a year like no other, and nothing turned out the way they planned as students entered their senior year. For General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil and her son, Kassius, the coronavirus pandemic also meant losing their school musical.
Vanessa Marcil: Proud Musical Mom
It was especially hard for mother and son when their production of Footloose was shut down on opening night as schools began shutting down across America.
Kassius recently graduated high school via Zoom like millions of other kids have this year and his graduation featured talented young singers performing from the musical.
“Kassius’ Bacclarette graduation ceremony for @campbellhallvikings on zoom. Time to let this generation take over,” Marcil wrote on Instagram by a video of Kass’s graduation.
“Listen…….🙏🏽 For all of you asking about the beautiful singers. They are also #2020graduates & you can see more of them in the Documentary on Kassius’ play #footloosethemusical the journey, the hard work, the joy of their dreams coming true only then to experience the unimaginable loss on their opening night with the shut down of their show. Later realizing THAT day would also turn out to be their last day ever on campus because of Covid19 🙏🏽 ‘It is who you are in the face of adversity that shows your true character’ I will be posting the doc for you all.”
Marcil recently posted that Kass is also college-bound, making her one very proud mom indeed. Plus, the actress will be making a documentary on the cast’s Footloose experience public on Sunday, August 2. Photos in Marcil’s Instagram story make it look like an amazing production, indeed. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
