Staying at home and turning 50 has given Steve Burton a chance to do a lot of reflecting and to make some changes. The General Hospital star has a whole new look, but he’s still as motivated and determined as ever.
“Let’s get moving!” the actor posted to Instagram last week. “Always trying to get better and be better. Being 50 now lol.. I know Fitness and nutrition is KEY to anti-aging so here’s to garage workouts and being active. Being in quarantine and having no gym truly helped me get back to the basics. Bodyweight workouts and running, it’s really that simple.. And having @1shereeburton around doesn’t hurt.”
Just yesterday the actor posted a pic of himself with wild hair — and lighter hair. It doesn’t look very Jason Morgan at all, but it does look at a bit like Jason Quartermaine decades ago.
“Wild hair for wild times! Hope everyone is well. Not ideal times obviously but trying to make lemonade out of lemons. Time to reboot, re-asses, and learn some new skills. Never too late to adapt, grow, and learn something new or set some new goals. Get it done. YOU CAN!”
The actor’s words are inspiring during an uncertain time where Americans both have stay-at-home fatigue and fear a virus that is doing more damage than ever during the summer months. But can we beat this — and get our soaps back? Yes, we can. See Burton’s new look below in his social media posts.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) gripping romance and wedding, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH knows how to please their viewers.
More than five decades of gripping drama has kept the daytime sudser on the air as other soap operas were axed. It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
