We have already seen three weeks’ worth of General Hospital Nurses Balls and this week we’re getting a taste of Carly and Sonny through the years. While next week’s GH episodes will feature Jason and Sam, we are going right back to Sonny and the Corinthos clan the week after.
More General Hospital Classics
Yes, the week of June 29-July 3, we will see Sonny (Maurice Benard) interact with his kids in memorable and dramatic episodes that show a softer side of Port Charles’ favorite mob mogul. We will also see a dangerous side as the week begins.
Monday starts with an unforgettable hour when Sonny shoots his own son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). However, he did not know Dante was his son when he fired the gun. He only learned that right after when Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) blurted out the truth.
The rest of the week will include:
Kristina and Sonny attend therapy (Original Airdate: 6/4/10)
Michael holds a gun on Sonny to make him pay for killing AJ (Original Airdate: 11/7/14)
Michael gives Avery back to Sonny (Original Airdate: 6/29/15)
Sonny stops Morgan from jumping off the roof (Original Airdate: 2/26/16)
Sonny And His Kids is also a GH collection that ABC released online in 2018 and these five episodes, among others, are featured in this collection. Indeed, Sonny is one of the most prolific men in Port Charles as he’s father to Dante, Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth), Morgan (Bryan Craig), Avery (Grace and Ava Scarola), and Donna, plus adoptive father to Michael (Chad Duell). So, a week with him and his kids should be quite a treat.
General Hospital History
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running sudser is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running sudser, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) gripping romance and wedding, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH knows how to please their viewers.
Bringing the Drama
More than five decades of gripping drama has kept the daytime sudser on the air as other soap operas were axed. It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives, The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). GH airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
