General Hospital News Update: Nancy Lee Grahn On When The Soap May Return

Soon, General Hospital will go to showing classic Nurses Ball episodes in lieu of new and original shows, as it will have depleted the episodes filmed before the coronavirus pandemic forced production in Hollywood to shut down.

GH was able to make its episodes last longer than the CBS soaps by editing in flashbacks and stretching things out, but there’s only so far that can go and starting May 26, we will be seeing a lot of song and dance as we revisit Nurses Balls past for several weeks.

Actress Nancy Lee Grahn promises to do her best to entertain us all after learning that California Governor Gavin Newsom extended Los Angeles county’s stay-at-home order through August.

Like many regions, LA County will spend three months slowly re-opening things in phases, but there are no specifics on when some television and movie productions can get back to work.

“I vow to do my best to keep #GH fans entertained til we get back to work, which apparently now will not be before August. I’m dusting off my tap shoes as I tweet,” Grahn said.

While Nancy Lee Grahn does not confirm that she has heard from anyone at ABC about the production schedule, there have been questions since this crisis began on how soaps can get back to work safely if the pandemic isn’t contained and if we get a second wave in the fall.
