General Hospital News Update: Michael Easton on Dr. Finn Solving A Pandemic

Michael Easton is dropping the curtain a bit on his self-admitted press-shy stance. Recently, the General Hospital actor made a suggestion to his fans: If they were to donate to charities to help deal with these challenging times, he’d answer their questions on Facebook.

Michael Easton Gives Answers For A Good Cause

Soap Hub reported on the first batch of responses Easton gave to his social media followers, who gave for a good cause. There are a lot of worthy organizations out there including Direct Relief and Harvest.org. “Just give where you see need,” the actor who brings Hamilton Finn to life said.

Do you think Finn could help cure Coronavirus? Would you like to play out a storyline like that? Or do you think at the last moment Jason would have to burst in with the cure?
Michael Easton: It would be up to our writers, but I think it will be hard to completely ignore what’s going on in the world right now. I’m all for escapism but having Finn and the rest of the staff involved in the pandemic on some level would be a wonderful way to bring some much-deserved attention to our frontline health workers who I am in awe of and consider to be true heroes.

I would imagine there’s tragic, courageous, uplifting stories happening daily in every hospital in America and I think, on some level, our fictional ‘General Hospital’ might do well to explore that.

I think you were robbed by not getting an Emmy nomination this year. Your work finding out about Violet (Jophielle Love) was heartbreaking.
That’s very kind of you but I didn’t submit myself. I had a very nice experience a couple of years ago being nominated but have not done so since.

You are the only one I know that keeps in touch with Roger Howarth (Franco). A few of us fans were wondering if you have talked to him at all and how he is doing?
Roger is well and he sends his regards. He’s presently building a cabin in the woods and translating “The Canterbury Tales” into Latin.

What is something you’ve learned from working with Finola? What have you taught her?
I marvel at her talent, dedication, charm, and professionalism. I have taught her nothing but bad habits.
