Port Chuck, Port Chuckles, or just The Chuckles, was a name General Hospital iconic character Luke Spencer gave the town of Port Charles. Port Chuck was later adopted as a band name for some of your GH favorites, including Steve Burton.
“Looking back at what an AMAZING ride Port Chuck was! Thank YOU and thanks to @bfordanderson @brandonjbarash @scottreevesforreal for some of the best times of my life!” Burton posted to Instagram on Monday night. He also shared a snap of himself looking out at the ocean with a Port Chuck hoodie on to keep him warm.
Port Chuck formed in 2010 with Steve Burton (Jason) on vocals, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny) on vocals and harmonica, Scott Reeves (ex-Steve) on vocals and guitar, and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) on vocals.
They first made a name for themselves when they were asked to play in Nashville, AKA, Music City at the 2010 CMA Music Festival. At the time, Burton told TheBoot.com: “If it wasn’t for Scott’s experience, since he’s been playing music his whole life, there’s just no way this could have even been put together in time for that at all!”
The group went on to play across the country for several years, even after Barash (now Jake, Days of our Lives), Reeves, and Burton left the soap. Anderson was dropped to recurring and Burton eventually returned to GH under contract after spending some time in Genoa City as Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless.
Port Chuck hasn’t appeared together in over a year due to both technical issues in 2019 and COVID wiping out live concerts for the foreseeable future in 2020. Is Burton talking about just missing the band in his post and do they plan to perform together again when the world is more conducive to concerts? General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
