General Hospital star Marc Anthony Samuel knows the importance of wearing a mask during this challenging time we are all living in, and he’s taken to wearing a mask with a special meaning.
The actor behind Nurse Felix DuBois posted a photo of himself to Instagram donning a red and black mask that was created by Ceremony Grade to raise awareness of the Huni Kuin tribe of Brazil.
“Thank you @ceremonygrade for the mask,” Samuel wrote. “Not only for added safety during this time but also to highlight the efforts and needs of the Huni Kuin tribe of Brazil. The symbol on the mask is called the Kené which is an invocation of their people which symbolizes PROTECTION. Please check them out, and please stay safe.”
Ceremony Grade’s mission is to be a bridge for indigenous cultures, working with and serving communities by bringing awareness to indigenous cultures and sharing with their permission their beautiful and sacred designs through clothing.
The mask Samuel is wearing symbolizes protection, and Ceremony Grade’s website explains how important their mission is.
“Through ceremony, we have been able to access the most powerful healing and we have a deep respect for the elders, our ancestors, and the teachers that bring these practices throughout the world,” it says. “With the help of our close-knit community, friends, and family we hope to continue to collaborate with the indigenous cultures and serve these communities of people to help them where they need it. We are so honored to have partnered with the BOA foundation for this particular campaign to support the Huni Kuin.”
Back in Port Charles, Nurse Felix has been to figure out a way to get rid of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) as Chief of Staff and doing what he can to make his voice heard. He has also been there for Mike (Max Gail) during his final days. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
