Remember when Robert Scorpio was all set to head off to Australia to join wife Holly and an adorable little girl showed up in his living room? That girl, as General Hospital viewers recall, was Robin, who turned out to be Robert’s daughter with ex-wife Anna. That was 35 years ago and Kimberly McCullough became a daytime star.
Kimberly McCullough Brings Robin To Life
While she was the catalyst that delayed Robert’s (Tristan Rogers) reunion with Holly (Emma Samms), viewers nonetheless fell instantly in love with the adorable Robin (Kimberly McCullough). From her debut, Robin was kept at the forefront of storylines involving her secret agent parents, Robert and Anna (Finola Hughes). Despite her mother and father’s dangerous occupations, Robin seemed well-adjusted.
Childhood Trauma
Viewers will never forget Robin and Anna’s tearful reunion after she’d been kidnapped. It remains a classic moment in GH’s rich history. Later, it was her parents’ turn to go missing. Robin was left an orphan after Robert and Anna were presumed dead in a boat explosion. Uncle Mac (John J. York) stepped up and raised Robin as his own.
Robin And Stone
In the mid-90s, General Hospital told a sensitive, entertaining, and informative love story between Robin and Stone (Michael Sutton), who had contracted AIDS. Unknowingly, he passed it on to Robin. On his death bed, Stone, who had lost his eyesight, suddenly saw Robin. Diagnosed HIV-positive, Robin fantasized that Robert and Anna came to visit her. She spoke out at the annual Nurses Ball fundraiser/talent show, which shined a light on awareness and medical research.
Paris And Pine Valley
Robin moved to Paris after telling A.J. (Sean Kanan; Billy Warlock) that he was Michael’s father, making her an enemy of Carly (Laura Wright) for life! She visited Pine Valley, locale to All My Children, and reunited with her Anna, who had survived the explosion. Later, in Port Charles, Robin discovered that Robert was alive, too.
General Hospital Scrubs
Robin, now a doctor, got a job at General Hospital. There, she met Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), the love of her life. They endured much and made it to the altar. Robin gave birth to a daughter, Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) without passing HIV along to her.
Back From The Dead
Presumed dead in a lab explosion while trying to aid her good pal Jason (Steve Burton), Robin was kidnapped and taken to Switzerland where she was held captive by Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), Eventually, Robin returns to Port Charles just in time to interrupt the wedding of Patrick and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo). History repeated itself when Emma spied her mama in the rear of the church and went running into her arms, recreating the moment when Anna and a young Robin were reunited.
Never Far From Home
Later, Patrick, Robin, and Emma left Port Charles, but occasionally Robin and her daughter returned for visits. The Scorpio-Drake family’s expanded as Robin has given birth to Patrick’s son, Noah, named after his father Noah (Rick Springfield). Her last General Hospital appearance was in 2018.
“But What She Realy Wants To Do…”
Kimberly McCullough, who has won two Daytime Emmys in the category of Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series (1989; 1996), has put acting on the backburner while she pursues her directing career.
