After months spent trapped at home, Ingo Rademacher is certainly glad that he’s back filming new episodes of General Hospital and seeing what awaits Jax in Port Charles.
Ingo Rademacher: Playing It Safe
And he’s also making sure he’s being careful, adhering to the strict protocols put in place to keep actors safe and everyone on set healthy. To that end, Rademacher took to social media to show one of the ways he’s helping.
On his Instagram account, the actor posted a photo wearing a special mask that his company, Mahiku Activewear Hawaii, has created.
“Rocking the GH @mahikuactivewear mask outside of work after some more great scenes,” he said. “Stoked to be back shooting new shows and keeping things safe.”
Rademacher and his wife Ehiku donated a number of these embroidered masks to the GH cast and crew. “Stay safe y’all and hope you’re all enjoying the new episodes,” he wrote.
Now that the soaps are back in production, the actors are doing their part by wearing masks and social distancing when not in scenes, and they are required to wear their masks up until the moment the camera rolls.
And the shows are having some fun with their masks. The Bold and the Beautiful provided BB-specific masks for those returning to set, and many of the actors have plastered social media with their wearing of them.
The Young and the Restless has specially designed masks by actor Robert Parucha, who played Victor’s brother Matt and recently returned for the Newman Enterprises anniversary, as well as popping up in some of the classic episodes that aired during the pandemic hiatus.
Parucha’s apparel company received permission from YR to make 100 masks as a contribution to those on the show, as a way to keep his friends and castmates safe. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
