General Hospital’s Anthony Montgomery took part in the virtual red carpet premiere of the sci-fi spoof Unbelievable!!!!! this weekend.
Anthony Montgomery: New Project
The comedy, which includes a cast of more than 40 Star Trek actors, has been much anticipated among Sci-Fi fans since the movie was first announced more than seven years ago.
“Congratulations to the team at @unbelievablemv for getting distribution!!” the actor posted to his Instagram account last month. A more recent post from last week let fans know that he was looking forward to the premiere, as well as participating in a virtual Q&A with fans.
Montgomery, who played Ensign Travis Mayweather on UPN’s Star Trek: Enterprise and dabbles in graphic novels as well, plays The Launchman in the film. The actor posted a photo of his character on Instagram as well.
The movie is a parody following four astronauts, one of whom is a marionette, who travel to the moon on a rescue mission only to discover a fiendish plot to invade Earth with evil alien plants.
Written and directed by Steven L. Fawcette, Unbelievable!!!!! was originally filmed in 2013, but because of extensive post-production, reshoots, and some red tape, it was unable to find a distributor until now, though a version was shown in 2016 as part of Star Trek’s 50th anniversary in Hollywood.
The film stars Snoop Dogg, Michael Madsen, and Star Trek staples such as Nichelle Nichols (Uhuru), Walter Koenig (Chekov), and Tim Russ (Voyager’s Tuvok). You can see the trailer below.
Montgomery started on General Hospital as Dr. Andre Maddox in 2014, enjoying some romance with Jordan and a bit of a flirtation with Anna. The psychiatrist still returns to Port Charles every now and again, last appearing late last year. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
