Our GH Take: Misunderstandings and Trickery Run Amuck

It was an eventful episode of General Hospital Wednesday, with a few storylines grabbing our attention.

Villainess or Star-Crossed Lover?
It’s hard to say that previously Claudette (Bree Williamson) had been subtle with her undermining of Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) relationship, but definitely when you compare it to her actions today.

We kept waiting for her to twirl her invisible mustache, as she tried to twist the knife into Maxie’s back. While it was fun to watch the two women and their evenly matched verbal volley, what came next was rather unexpected.

After General Hospital teased so many near-misses, Griffin (Matt Cohen) finally ran into Claudette at the hospital. The way they looked longingly into each other’s eyes hinted a promise of a deeper, more complex layer to Claudette and made us excited to see what comes next for her. This was not something that could be said five minutes earlier.

Poor Misunderstood Franco
It was hard to see Franco (Roger Howarth) seeking his father’s support as Scott (Kin Shriner) continued to hold him at arm’s length. Frankly, so was Liz (Rebecca Herbst). Neither rebuff sat well with Franco as you could see he was weighing what being “good” was actually getting him.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom. A particular fun moment had Franco listing his grievances on a min-rant with Scott trying to get him to be quiet already. Eventually, he resorted to pulling his hair. It did the trick and made us thrilled we get to watch these two play off each other.

[relbar text=”Did General Hospital Imply Luke Is Dead?”]Poor Misunderstood Morgan
It was rough watching an almost frightened Kiki (Hayley Erin) find out Morgan (Bryan Craig) was trying to get them a place to move in together. She defends her lack of enthusiasm by explaining they were only together one night.

He should have discussed it with her. Morgan quickly accuses her of thinking he’s off his meds. It was a heartbreaking moment when Kiki agreed, saying she thought he might be having a manic episode. It was a gut-wrenching moment – and what good soap opera viewing is all about.
