We’re not sure who was more shocked — General Hospital fans or Carly when Mrs. Corinthos went bobbing for apples, but Nurse Mary Pat’s head came bobbing to the barrel surface instead.
If GH wanted to give us a gruesome Halloween week they sure succeeded, as the image of that head is forever in our own heads. But, what GH accomplished wasn’t easy, as the soap takes you behind the scenes via social media to show you how it was done.
That wasn’t actually Patricia Bethune down there in that barrel but a mask instead. However, making that mask was quite a task and the Twitter video below shows you how it was done.
We also see what a good sport Laura Wright was being the center of this gruesome scene.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
#BehindTheScenes: @patriciabethune was kind enough to let us film the mold-making process for Mary Pat’s “dead head.” The special effects team at #VVDFX are rock stars! @VincentVanDyke #GH55 pic.twitter.com/0M6aqoB2mk

#BehindTheScenes: @patriciabethune couldn’t let the occasion go by without a photoshoot. It’s not often you get to pose with your own, severed head. #GH55 pic.twitter.com/HzrldLoseL
