Hope’s Soaps: The General Hospital Clash of the Jasons

Published by

Yes, we wanted to reach through our General Hospital screens today and throttle Jason Morgan as he continued to look at Elizabeth through extremely rose-colored glasses. Ever since he told her who he was a month ago, it’s been obvious to anyone who’s truly looked that she wasn’t shocked at all. Her desperation has been palpable, even the night of her botched wedding when Liz still begged this man to marry her right then and there, no matter what.

But, Jason Morgan is no fool. However, his problem seems to be that Jason Quartermaine is right there lurking not liking what he sees. He never wanted to be a Jason Morgan, but those instincts are there–those same instincts that have quite clearly driven him to Sam over the last year no matter how much Elizabeth made sure she was always there. When someone puts herself in your life that much and the other person you’re drawn to is already with someone else, it’s easy to tell yourself you’re madly in love with the one the town looks at as a pillar of virtue. After all, that other part of yourself was once a pillar of virtue too. And then that other part–that Jason Morgan part–he could always see when something wasn’t right.

Jason Q heard Sam call Elizabeth a bitch today and that set him off in an Jason 3.0 style. Anger Boy right out there like Jason 2.0 and his heart on his sleeve like Jason 1.0. But then, he took a good look at Elizabeth and saw she couldn’t look him in the eye. He knew. He knew right then and there she had something to hide and his friend–his good friend all this time–was telling the truth. He asked Liz to tell him what Sam was talking about and she refused. Why dignify the alleged lies? And then, the bell went off and we could see it in Billy Miller’s eyes.

Liz dug her hole even deeper when she voluntarily went on and on about how she loved him for him and the man he now is and oh, how perfect it was that he just happened to be Jason. It was meant to be (in her mind). She really should have stopped while she was ahead because tomorrow things are not going to look good for Lyin’ Liz. General Hospital will definitely be the show NOT to miss.
