Jason missed a ton of General Hospital (GH) happenings during his time drugged in a Russian clinic, and who knows what while he was presumed dead (and Drew Cain inadvertently took over his life).
We’ll assume this screw up occurred during the Drew (Billy Miller) as Jason (Steve Burton) years because Sonny (Maurice Benard) or someone had to mention at some point that Sonny killed AJ.
And Drew as Jason wanted to be more Quartermaine, going so far as rejecting Sonny’s life. But, if he learned Sonny killed his brother (and it turns out, AJ was Drew’s brother too), why didn’t we see it?
This week, Sonny mentioned killing AJ in passing as if the event was as routine as filling up your car with gas. Jason didn’t even blink? Did Jason already know? Did that happen off-screen too? If it did, clearly Jason didn’t care.
We know Jason and AJ were not very brotherly since the accident AJ caused that changed Jason Q to Jason M, but come on, shouldn’t either one of these Jasons have cared just a tiny bit?
Both men love Monica like a mother, and while they both share memories, neither remember Monica raising them cause those memories only go so far. Still, they adore her and AJ was her beloved son.
They should at least care for Monica’s sake that this man both have embraced as someone beyond a best friend (and who the real Jason still thinks of as much more than just a buddy) shot and killed their biological brother – also, Michael’s biological father.
Even Michael wanted nothing to do with Sonny when he learned his adoptive dad killed his bio dad. That’s how the subject came up this week. Sonny explained that Michael can handle himself and if he wants to hurt someone, he knows exactly how to do it.
So, Jason just basically said, “Yeah, ok, guess I have to trust you, Sonny.” Nope, he did not say “Hold up, did you just say you killed my brother?”
Of course not. That’s not important. And this is just one more screw up to add to the pile of screw ups in the “Jason Returns” story.
Let’s just add it to the list with not fighting for Sam (Kelly Monaco) and abandoning a new and compelling friendship with Ava (Maura West) cause oh no, she did bad things to Sonny’s family. Ya know, kinda like the way Sonny killed his brother.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
