Of course you haven’t seen the last of Carlos on “General Hospital” because you can’t keep a good hit man down.
OK, maybe you can when he’s a ghost. But, that doesn’t stop Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) from haunting Julian. The mobster starts to feel some guilt for letting Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) take the fall for a crime she didn’t commit.
If you thought Julian’s (William deVry) conscience left the moment he stuck that dagger in Carlos’s chest, think again. Julian finds himself in the same predicament Anna (Finola Hughes) was in a year ago. She thought she killed Carlos and he haunted her subconscious. Now, he does the same to Julian. However, don’t expect that guilt to get Julian to do the right thing. He still thinks Alexis will get off and they’ll live happily ever after.
GH head writers Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman admit in the July 4 issue of Soap Opera Digest that Julian knows the walls are closing in.
“He is very aware that he stands to lose everything that he loves,” Altman told Digest. “The last thing he wanted was to see his wife take the fall for something he did, but he’s finding himself between a rock and a hard place.”
He’s also left Alexis between that same rock and hard place, as well as questioning her own judgement, Passanante added.
When Alexis is released on bail, she finds Julian home and the pair face off. However, according to Altman, Alexis has no fear.
“In her heart of hearts, she thinks somehow their love will keep her safe,” the writer told Digest.
Alexis may be wrong on that one and really should have listened to Sonny weeks ago. Although he said he washed his hands of her, he’s still by her side. By the end of the week he has a surprise in store for Alexis that Passanante calls a “game changer.”
