Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in con-tract, recurring or day player roles?
Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of June 25, 2018
There’s about to be another vacancy at the Port Charles cop shop. On the heels of Ryan Peavey’s exit as Det. Nathan West, Dominic Zamprogna has opted to exit his role a Det. Dante Falconeri. The actor has portrayed Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) son since 2009.
Zamprogna confirmed the news on Twitter. “So you’ve been asking,” he tweeted. “I feel I owe it to you awesome fans to tell you that I’ve taped my final scenes. Going to miss you and my GH fam. Good things happening, tho. More to come.”
There’s no official word yet as to how the show will handle the move, but a recast looks likely.
Celesta DeAstis, who first appeared as a grown Avery in a fantasy sequence and later resurfaced as Francesca, a hospital nurse, is back on the scene.
Patricia Bethune is playing Ferncliff mental hospital nurse Mary Pat. The actress appeared as Jane Bodehouse on True Blood and portrayed nurse Ginger on Grey’s Anatomy.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for air times.
