Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not too far off future?

General Hospital C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of July 5, 2021
Apparently, a new Spencer Cassadine will soon be making his GH debut. Word is newcomer Nicholas Alexander Chavez has been cast in the role of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and the late Courtney’s son. The character had been portrayed by Nicolas Bechtel, on and off, since 2013.

Hudson West makes another appearance as Jake Spencer on Monday, July 5. He’ll share scenes with his TV brother, William Lipton’s Cameron Webber. Will these two finally make up, or will this set the stage for a bigger rift?

Glenn Taranto is playing Vincent Novak, patriarch of the mob family wreaking havoc for the Corinthos clan.

Anita Finley is back as Judge Carson, the questionable magistrate who sentenced Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore). She’ll appear in scenes with Haley Pullos’s Molly Lansing-Davis on Wednesday, July 7.

That was quick. After a trip back to London, Vernee Watson is already back as Stella Henry, Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) aunt. Please note that air dates may be subject to change.

General Hospital History

GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.

The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change.

Current Soap Operas

It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
