In a surprise move, Genie Francis has been sent out of town as Laura indefinitely, courtesy of a storyline ploy that has her tending to her injured grandson, Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel).
The exit was swiftly set in motion when Francis’ was dropped from contract status and approached about appearing on the soap on a recurring basis. At the moment, that doesn’t seem to be an option the actress is considering.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) may no longer be dating Dr. Bensch, but James DePaiva is still on the canvas. Look for the actor to be back on screen this month as he continues his run as a recurring character.
