Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in con-tract, recurring or day player roles?
Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the General Hospital fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.
The week of October 1, 2018
Genie Francis’ long-awaited return as Laura Spencer is finally here. The actress, is back full-time on Monday, October 1. Word is that it’s for a long story arc involving the complicated unraveling of the Kevin/Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) switcheroo.
Francis hasn’t been seen since January, after her contract with the soap expired and a new one was not offered up. Hence, Laura was abruptly sent out of town to tend to her grandson.
Speaking of that grandson, young Spencer is finally heading home to Port Charles, too. Nicolas Bechtel is back on set taping scenes as the precocious Cassadine. Bechtel has been off the canvas since 2017, when he was shipped off to a boarding school in France.
Kelly Theibaud, remembered as Dr. Britt Westbourne, is also returning to the show. She played the nasty doc from 2012 to 2015 and has popped up for short visits a few times since. No word as to the length of her stay this time around.
Brytni Sarpy pops in as Valerie Spencer on Monday, October 1 in some scenes at the cop shop.
