Who’s coming and who’s going from General Hospital (GH)?

Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?

Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles?

Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?

Here’s the latest casting news from the ABC soap.

The week of September 18, 2017
After five years away from the GH fold, Steve Burton resurfaces on Tuesday, September 19, as… Well, the soap’s not saying who, but he did create quite a splash and win an Outstanding Supporting Actor Daytime Emmy for his role as Jason Morgan. Burton played the character from 1995 to 2012.

Deborah Strang begins appearing as Betsy Frank, Franco’s (Roger Howarth) adoptive mother. The part was originally played by Betsy Franco, the real-life mom of original Franco, James Franco. The character last aired in 2014.

That was former Glee star Patrick Gallagher, remembered as Ken Tanaka, coach of the McKinley Titans, playing the guard at the mental hospital housing Heather on Monday, September 11.

Also debuting last week, on Tuesday, September 12, was Agnes Olech as Larisa, the woman accompanying Ava (Maura West) to the Baronski Clinic in Russia.
