Curtis and Ava Have Chemistry, But It’ll Never Happen and Here’s Why!

It’s called a chemistry test. Soap-opera fans know one when they see it. As soon as two characters who’ve never interacted before are suddenly sharing screen-time, fans know The Powers That Be are considering their pairing options.

It happened most recently on General Hospital, when Curtis walked into Ava’s gallery as a ploy to figure out if Julian was telling the truth about his devious sister… but walked out with a whole lot more. So what’s the next step for these two?

Isn’t It Romantic?
There were sparks. You saw them, we saw them, TPTB definitely saw them. Ava (Maura West) was charmed by Curtis’s love of art, even as she felt pretty certain that wasn’t what he was truly there to talk about. At this point, they have more in common than many other couples in Port Charles.

Seriously — what do Liz and Franco really have to talk about? And Alexis and Julian (William deVry) are pretty much diametric opposites about… everything. With a basis like that and chemistry to spare, 49% of you are ready to watch them bring on the romance!

Fear and Loathing
On the other hand, 36% of viewers would prefer to see the relationship go in another direction: Hate. You want to see Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Ava become enemies. Probably because, otherwise, neither one has too much of an intellectual challenge in Port Charles.

Ava is probably getting bored outsmarting everyone who comes her way, and so is Curtis. Even if they don’t become lovers, they should still have a good time sparring together.

Bosom Buddies
A love of art may not be a solid enough foundation to form a romantic relationship when one person is a hard-core criminal and the other is… a little less so. But 15% of fans don’t foresee any problems to Ava and Curtis becoming best friends.

They can hit gallery openings together, then go their separate, scheming ways until next time. After all, Curtis needs more in life than just Jason (Billy Miller) and Ava should really expand her social circle away from her brother.
