The town of Port Charles is one of danger, romance, and love. Its residents are passionate and headstrong and this always translates into some memorable General Hospital weddings that make fans swoon.
Here are 4 of the most romantic flashback weddings General Hospital ever featured. How many do you remember? Were any of them your all time favorites?
Luke and Laura
Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) romance began with sexual assault and their subsequent relationship thereafter. Laura turned from victim to romantic heroine overnight; Luke from villain to romantic hero. The couple fell in love and fought against her former husband Scott Baldwin, who hated Luke and wanted Laura back in his life. The show’s writers wanted the couple apart longer before marrying, but it was actress Elizabeth Taylor, who would subsequently appear on the series as Helena Cassadine, who pushed for the TV wedding. She made a deal to appear on the show if Luke and Laura married, and on November 16 and 17, 1981, their wedding wedding became the most-watched wedding in the history of daytime.
Anna and Duke
After the fiasco of their first aborted wedding, both were heartbroken and miserable. However, their love story wasn’t over. Anna (Finola Hughes) found herself trapped on a train that was about to explode after Robert jumped off. Duke (Ian Buchanan) took a helicopter to the train, almost lost his life jumping aboard, and freed Anna just before the bomb that was on the moving vehicle detonated. The two soon married in a beautiful Scottish ceremony, and then, took off for a magical honeymoon in Scotland.
Tiffany and Sean
When Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) miraculously came back from the dead, Sean moved on from his relationship with Alan’s wife, Monica, and began a relationship with Tiffany (Sharon Wyatt). Tiffany worked for the television station WLPC as an executive and gave Colton Shore his own show called The Colton Connection. In 1988, Sean and Tiffany finally married in the Quartermaine mansion, but one of her darkest secrets was revealed during their vows, Tiffany’s real name came out: Elsie Mae Crumholz.
Frisco and Felicia
Felicia Cummings (Kristina Wagner) arrived in Port Charles dressed as a boy intent on getting back an Aztec heirloom ring. Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) had it and the two began a love/hate relationship in which Felicia was intent on getting back her family treasure and Frisco was intent on making her his. The two married in a romantic ceremony in Bobbie’s brownstone. Since Frisco was in the police academy and could not travel away, Sean gave them a private honeymoon in his penthouse.
