General Hospital‘s Nina and Carly may hate each other, but they have one thing in common: they consistently fall for the same men. It looks like we are still counting.
Franco: Believe It Or Not
Franco (ex-Roger Howarth) went from mad killer to good guy after his brain tumor was discovered. Nina (Cynthia Watros) had a psychotic break after she woke up from a coma. The two became friends; he saved her from Heather (then Robin Mattson), and they each faked a breakdown so that they could be at Shadybrook together. Unsurprisingly, the relationship didn’t last.
Carly (Laura Wright) fell for Franco when everyone believed he was Jason’s (Steve Burton) long-lost twin. Coincidentally, he also rescued Carly from Heather. Their relationship ended when he found out she was having an affair with Sonny (Maurice Benard). He left her at the altar.
Jax: The White Knight
Jax and Carly’s relationship began as a business deal, but they eventually fell in love. The couple married and had a daughter, Josslyn (Eden McCoy, who broke down Josslyn’s mind games with Cassius). Their relationship had many ups and downs, mostly due to Carly’s relationship with Sonny (Maurice Benard), and they eventually divorced.
After years away from Port Charles, Jax returned and fell for Nina, who was then with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). When that relationship fell apart, Jax was there to pick up the pieces. Their relationship fizzled out pretty quickly when Nina began spending time in Nixon Falls.
Sonny: Or Mike?
Many believed Sonny and Carly were endgame. They have fallen in and out of love multiple times, and married and divorced just as many. They share three children: Michael (Rory Gibson), Donna (Scarlett Spears), and Morgan (Brian Craig), who passed away. These two may never get back together, but they will always be close.
During their last marriage, Sonny lost his memory and lived in Nixon Falls under the name Mike. Nina found him there, kept the secret to herself, and the two fell in love. Sonny was at first furious when he regained his memory, but he realized he loved Nina. He and Carly divorced.
Valentin: The Spy
Once upon a time, Valentin and Nina were very much in love. They married, and she helped him fight for custody of Charlotte (Bluesy Burke). Valentin even once took a bullet for her. He eventually ruined their relationship by hiring Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) to pretend to be Nina’s long-lost daughter.
Carly hated Valentin, but when she wanted to get even with Jack (Chris McKenna), she turned to him. He became a fugitive, and she has been hiding him in her house. They grew close and fell into a relationship. Time will tell whether it lasts.
One More?
Carly was in love with Jack until she realized he had recruited Josslyn into the WSB, and she could not forgive him.
Nina injected Jack with a drug that rendered him immobile, but isn’t that how all good relationships start? There may be something brewing between the two of them, which would make one of them more of a man who loved them both. Do you think this will happen?
