General Hospital fans were sad to see Vinessa Antoine vacate the role of Jordan Ashford after a stellar four-year run back in 2018, but couldn’t blame the actress for leaving, given that she was offered a starring role in the Canadian legal drama, Diggstown.

Another blow was that unless you lived in Canada, there was no way to see her show, as none of the U.S. streaming services or networks ever picked it up. But that’s about to change.

According to Deadline, Fox has picked up both six-episode seasons of Diggstown, and will use the show to fill some of the gaps created by production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The actress posted a link to the Deadline story on her Instagram account, writing “God. Is. Good” and using the hashtag ‘#bursting’ to show her excitement.

Created by Floyd Kane, Diggstown follows star corporate lawyer Marcie Diggs (played by Antoine), who reconsiders her priorities and moves to work in a legal-aid office after her beloved aunt takes her own life following the pressures of a malicious prosecution.

Her team includes a roster of do-gooders, cynics, and scrappers, who seek out injustice in the community, often dealing with cases involving racism, poverty, and gender bias.

Diggstown also stars Natasha Henstridge (The Secret Circle), C. David Johnson (Street Legal), Stacey Farber (Saving Hope), Brandon Oakes (Anne With an E), Shailene Garnett (Shadowhunters), Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp), and Dwain Murphy (Mohawk Girls).

The show was renewed for a third season this summer, and new episodes are expected to air in Canada later this year. No word on whether or not Fox will hold the rights to any new episodes, but if viewers watch, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Diggstown become a staple on the network.

Fox has not announced when the show will air, but Antoine fans shouldn’t have to wait too long to see her back on their TV screens in America. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
