In December of 2014, Kelly Thiebaud left her role of Dr. Britt Westbourne on “General Hospital” to the dismay of her loyal fans. But they continue to keep in touch with the actress via social media, which touches the actress.
She sat down with Soap Hub to discuss what she’s been doing since leaving, her dreams for the future, and how she feels about a possible return to the show.
Night Shift
So what has the actress been up to, besides planning her wedding to “General Hospital” heartthrob, Bryan Craig (Morgan)?
“I’ve been trying to get a primetime show,” Thiebaud shared.
Hotel Check-In
If she had a choice, where would she want to land?
“The show ‘Bates Motel’ is something I would love to get on. It’s their last season, so that will probably never happen,” she admitted. “But yes, it’s one of my favorite shows. Or ‘Bloodlines’ – I love ‘Bloodlines.’ There’s a lot of good TV out there, so hopefully I can get on a great show.”
Home is Where the Heart Is
Of course, daytime fans wonder if she’d consider returning to “General Hospital” in the future.
The actress smiled. “I would definitely do that,” she confided. But there’s a stipulation. “I wouldn’t do it under a contract, which is the only reason it hasn’t happened yet.” Whoa!

“They wanted me to continue, and I didn’t. I told them, ‘Hey, I’d love to continue recurring,’ but I have other dreams I’m trying to go after, so I needed to leave.”
How did it feel to leave? “It’s sad, like I definitely miss my character and the fans are always on Twitter [saying] ‘We want you back.’ It makes me a little sad, for sure. But they won’t do it.”
But If They Would…
Soap Hub asked Thiebuad what would be a good short-term story for Britt if she did return.
“I haven’t really been keeping up with the show so I don’t know where the characters that I was involved with are at. I did hear that Brad (Parry Shen), my friend, got married. I don’t know why I wasn’t there for that,” she teased. “I don’t know. I thought that would have been a great little fun piece to bring my character back for, but it’s okay.”
