Kristina Wagner got her big break playing Felicia Cummings on General Hospital, a role she is still working on today! Though she didn’t grow up in a show business family, Wagner was determined to make her dreams a reality.
Along with her work on GH, Wagner also stars on the popular Hallmark show, When Calls the Heart. From where she was born and raised to her marriage, here are five fast facts you need to know about the actress.
In The Beginning
Wagner was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She started acting while she was in high school and later decided to study theater in college. She also studied dance and performed with the University Theater Group. During this time, she managed to land local commercials in the Indianapolis area.
First TV Role
Wagner worked in Chicago for a bit before making the big move out to Los Angeles. The first job she landed was actually her role on General Hospital as Felicia Cummings. She got the part in 1984 and stayed with the show until 2003 when she left for a bit to pursue other things.
From Fan to Friend
Prior to landing her role on General Hospital, Wagner looked up to the star of the show, Rachel Ames. She greatly admired her as an actress. When Wagner got her part on the show, Ames became a mentor to her and took her under her wing. They remained very close all throughout their time on set.
Heart In Africa
Wagner loves the outdoors and has a strong passion for traveling. In fact, a trip to Africa had such a deep effect on her that she became an advocate for wildlife protection within African countries. She is also on the board of the African Wildlife Foundation.
Getting Personal
Wagner married her General Hospital co-star, Jack Wagner, in 1993. The couple announced their divorce in 2001 but reconciled two years later. However, in 2005 they filed for divorce again and finalized it the following year. The couple has two children together, sons Peter and Harrison. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
