Five Fast Facts About General Hospital Star Kirsten Storms

Kirsten Storms currently stars as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, but she has been working hard in Hollywood since she was a kid. In fact, many people know Storms thanks to her work on the Disney Channel and appearances on television shows such as 7th Heaven, That’s So Raven, and Clubhouse.

Of course, soap audiences got their first glimpse of the actress when she played Belle on Days of Our Lives. From where she was born to the apple of her eye, here are five fast facts about General Hospital star, Kirsten Storms.

In The Beginning
Storms was born on April 8 in Orlando, Florida. She has a sister named Gretchen who also acts, a brother named Austin, and a stepbrother named Chris. She always knew she wanted to be an actress and began taking classes when she was 5. A talent scout got her involved in an acting camp and she went on to work in commercials.

Teen Star
Storms began her professional acting career in the mid-‘90s, but things really took off for her when she was cast in the Disney Channel original movie, Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century. The movie was released in 1999 when she was 15, and it had the largest rating for any Disney Channel original at the time. She played Zenon in two more films.

A Kind Heart
Her older brother Austin served overseas in Iraq and to show her support, the actress worked with programs which support the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Health Issues
There have been a couple of times that Storms has had to step away from her GH role, which she has had since 2005, due to a medical issue. She has revealed that she struggles with endometriosis. When she has taken a break, she’s been replaced by Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, DAYS) and Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie, DAYS).

Proud Mom
Storms began dating her former GH co-star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny; now Stefan on DAYS) in early 2013 and they tied the knot that June. They welcomed daughter Harper Rose Barash on January 7, 2014. When Maxie gave birth to Georgie, Harper even played her for a little while.

However, just over two years after getting married, Storms and Barash announced their divorce in 2016. Despite their split, the pair work hard to co-parent their adorable daughter together. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
