Briana Nicole Henry currently plays Jordan Ashford on General Hospital, but the actress has been on other shows such as The Young and the Restless, Undateable, Jane the Virgin, Insecure, and Shameless.
Along with her television career, Henry has also made appearances in films such as At Middleton and Bright. From where she was born and raised to her upcoming role, here are five fast facts about the General Hospital actress.
In The Beginning
Henry was born on January 19 in Broward County, Florida, but she was raised in the Miami area. She was always interested in the arts, including painting and singing, but she was more passionate about sports at a young age. However, when she was a junior in high school, she entered a poetry competition and it made her fall in love with being on-stage.
Fitness Fiend
Henry attended the University of Southern California and received her BFA in theater acting. She booked the role of Esmeralda on The Young and the Restless while she was a senior in college, but she decided to become a SoulCycle instructor for two years following graduation.
Vote of Confidence
While being very nervous to start her new job at GH, a little note, left on a napkin by her predecessor, Vinessa Antoine, meant a great deal to her. Turns out the two had met briefly on set when Henry first booked the role — before Antoine had left.
Upcoming Role
While she’s stayed busy as Jordan Ashford on General Hospital, Henry has an exciting appearance on a very anticipated show coming this fall. She will be playing the role of Alyssa in an episode of Apple’s new show, The Morning Show, which stars Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell.
Getting Personal
Henry got engaged to her fiancé, Kris Bowers — who is a jazz pianist and composer for TV and film — including Green Book — earlier this year after two years of dating. The couple actually met on the dating app Bumble and have been together ever since. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
